BMW Join Forces With The Olympics?

It has just been announced that BMW will be partnering with the Olympics in 2012 to supply them with cars to transport all of the athletes around in.

In fact BMW are going to be sending over 4,000 BMW Cars over to the Olympic and it would seem that the deciding factor on BMW is because they are really trying hard to cut down on all those CO2 emissions. However surely sending 4,000 cars over to the UK to use for just two weeks to only have to send them back again is actually going to use up a lot of fuel.

Are there not better ways for the athletes to get where they need to be?

Runners

This one is easy, jog it in people. If you ran to the stadium I would need to have to pay for the waste off money training facility. I thought these people were supposed to be fit?

Rowers

This one is not a difficult one at all, put the boat into the Thames and row to the stadium. You do it everyday of your lives one extra tiny bit isn’t exactly going to hurt!

Cyclists

Lets be honest here, is it that difficult to actually get on your bike and ride for 10 minutes down the road. How hard is it, thousands of people do it everyday.

If you are not actually taking part in any of the above events there is an alternative, walk in? It is ridiculous as we are going to be using more C02 omissions by putting the athletes in these cars. They are not even famous enough to deserve such luxuries!

So the next time you are after a used cars you could wait for the 4,000 that are going to be left at the end of the games. If perhaps you are incredibly lucky you could get into one of the cars from the BMW 3 series.
