Handsome however ponderous, dnll and self-vital, albeit on no account as gory as may be anticipated. Cast includes Gaspard Ulliel, Rhys Ifans, Gong Li, Helena Lia Tachovska, Dominic West, Aaron Thomas, Kevin McKidd, and Richard Brake. (121 minutes, 2007)

Barnacle Bill: Beery and Core aid essentially typical material as old vinegar and lady trying to trap him into matrimony. Cast includes Wallace Beery, Matjorie Prime, Leo Carrillo, Virginia Weidler, Donald Softhearted, and Barton Mafamilye. (98 minutes, 1941)

The Big Town: A rural city crapshooter with a “brilliant arm” comes to Chicago in the 1950s to become a big gambler, however still has a lot to learn. With that cast (and Lane as a stripper) it’s simple to watch although just as simple to forget. Cast includes Michael Biehn, Patti D’Arbanville, .Tony Rosato, Angelo Rizacos, Martin Doyle, and Mati Craven. (80 minutes, 1980)

The Clubland: Youthful gentleman and his buddies set out to make it in the music industry by operating at a hip club on L.A.’ s Sundown Strip, however they have to handle sleazy publicists and identity complications within the band. Modern-day music and trappings might camouflage, or defeat, a soggy tale that may have been made as a 1930s B film. Cast includes Jimmy Tuckett, Lori Trivial, Brad Seek, Heather Stephens, Rodney Eastman, Friend Quaid, Terence Trent D’ Arby, Alexis Arquette, and Steven Tyler.  (94 minutes, 1999)

The Great Locomotion Chase: Real tale of Andrews’ Raiders (filmed before by Buster Keaton as The General) comes to life in this vibrant Disney film. Parker is renowned Union detective who leads a rowdy band in seizing and “abducting” a Confederate railroad. Cast includes Fess Parker, Jeffrey Hunter, Jeff York, John Lupton, Eddie Firestone, and Kenneth Tobey. (55 minutes, 1956)
